Ministry at Holy Trinity

and St. Paul's

Sunday School

Every Sunday we offer an opportunity for children to learn more about Jesus, get to know one another, and have fun together.  This happens during the Sunday service.  It is staffed by a committed and capable group of volunteers.

Bible Studies and Study Groups

We run regular study groups on a wide variety of topics.  From Bible studies, to basic theology and movie discussion groups.  They are all intended to help you grow in your faith, make new friends, and find encouragement in prayer and fellowship.  We have run, to name a few, the ALPHA course, Freedom in Christ, The Why Course, START, Jesus the New Way, Living Faith, and a video discussion course on The Da Vinci Code.

Work in local schools

John and Grace (our Children and Families' Worker) go into all five of the local schools regularly to do assemblies and to talk with the children about Jesus. We have two "Open the Book Teams" one which is an ecumenical team with West Pelton Methodist Church and we have also run "Prayer Space" in some of our schools. We also hold school services in our Churches at Christmas, Easter and Harvest.

Seasonal Activities

These activities are always changing as new ideas come in but there are some regular ones worth mentioning.  During Christmas we go caroling within the parish inviting people to join us in Church.  We also give a portion of our parish income to designated charities which are agreed every three years at our Parish Church Council meetings.  During harvest we give an offering of food resources to the People's Kitchen in Newcastle and are enthusiastic supporters of the Christmas Shoebox appeal.
